Case Study

Recruiting Key Hires for an ERP Consulting Practice

Our Client

Our client is an established consulting firm that were investing significantly in growing its Oracle consulting practice. This diversification complemented its existing portfolio in technology consulting and systems integration.

The Situation

Our client, a newly appointed Managing Director, recognised that the organisation needed to recruit some key people to be able to win and deliver on larger consulting engagements. One of these key roles was the Head of Consulting for the Oracle Practice. This was a confidential assignment due to an incumbent in post. The search to find this post had to be conducted with the utmost discretion.

What we did

Working closely with our client we agreed on a small number of organisations to target as well as considering a list of potential candidates that we already knew in our network. We approached potential candidates and within 4 weeks were able to present a shortlist of candidates for interview with our client and then final interviews with the Board. The post was offered and accepted within 10 weeks of commencement of the search. In conjunction with this we were also tasked with finding 2 Programme Directors who had experience of leading complex Oracle implementations. This was was timed to coincide with the appointment of the Head of Consulting so that he/she could be involved in the final interviews for these posts. We successfully found two Programme Directors and also recruited other Project Managers and Fusion Consultants for the client within a six month period. This enabled our client to deliver on existing engagements as well as win significantly larger and more complex programmes in a number of new markets. The success of the recruitment activity enabled our client to become one of Oracle’s leading partners in Europe.
