
Working in Partnership with a Leading Software Applications Provider to Recruit Leadership & Sales Talent
A NASDAQ listed global software organisation and recognised market leader in Middleware and Service Orientated Architecture (SOA).
Our client recognized the need to strengthen the senior leadership team in two key functions, Pre Sales and Alliances. At the same time, there was also a pressing need for two key individual contributors to be brought into the business, a strategic Account Director to manage clients in the Financial Services market as well as a subject matter expert in SOA, to add further credibility to the pre sales organisation.
The two leadership roles were responsible for managing small teams of between 6-10 people and it was emphasized by the client that the main priority for our search was to locate talent with exceptional people management skills.
Following a detailed brief from the Country Manager, we agreed to conduct all four assignments at the same time. Our search for the Pre-Sales Director and Pre-Sales Executive concentrated on targeting competing technology firms, due to the need for strong technical experience. The searches for the Alliance and Account Director were not restricted and we targeted the broader software arena.
Our team comprised two Principles of Oreham Partners who supported by two Research Associates. This enabled the delivery of all four separate shortlists at approximately the same time, as requested by the client. The Pre Sales Director was selected from a direct competitor where he worked as a Team Leader and saw this role as a step up into full time management. The Pre-Sales Executive previously worked for a major bank, as the SOA lead, however wanted to move back into a software vendor for more varied client engagements.
The successful candidate for the Alliance Director search joined from a global networking vendor and came with deep experience and relationships within the key global consulting firms and Systems Integrators and the Account Director came from a global outsourcer where he managed the relationship with a large investment bank.
